In addition to Whale Watching, SeaSalt Charters also offers fishing charters out of Provincetown, Cape Cod.  There are very productive fishing grounds right outside of Provincetown Harbor in Cape Cod Bay, only minutes away from the dock.  Most of the targeted fish species are likely to be anywhere from these close spots to as far out as the whale locations.  They are mostly schooling fish, and thus they are fast and always on the move. Local knowledge of depths, tides, currents, and feeding patterns of these fish is the key to finding a spot where we are likely to have good luck. With Captain Avellar's experience as a commercial Striped Bass fisherman, and life long passion for fishing, we will take you to the most likely areas to catch:

• Striped Bass
• Bluefish
• Fluke
• Codfish
• Blue Fin Tuna

We have very sophisticated electronic equipment on board to aid in finding fish and to give us an idea as to the best way to catch them.  In certain situations we may use light tackle and try to catch the fish at the surface, or sometimes we will use heavier tackle and troll for the fish on the bottom.  Regardless of the conditions, we will be prepared to provide you with the best chances of landing the big one.  A typical trip will last 4 hours, usually including a 1/2 hour at the dock to clean all the fish we catch.  We provide all the fishing equipment including:

• Rods
• Reels
• Bait
• Tackle

At the end of the trip your captain or mate will clean the fish for you, so that you can conveniently go home and put your catch right on the grill or in the freezer.
